Hi
Hope someone can help, I have a Daewoo Espero (1995) 1.5 DOHC and I cant get it to start.
Fuel pump appears to be working correctly, can smell fuel on the injectors and inside the engine, but when I checked the spark plugs, there appears to be no spark.
The distributor is new so I dont think it's the problem, when I've checked the main lead coming from the ignition coil to the distributor with a spark plug I get no spark either.
So I think I have a broken Ignition Coil, can anyone provide me with a specification in Ohms for the Ignition Coil so I can test the resistance over the coil? Both primary and secondary coils, it would be much appreciated as I cant find information on the subject in English anywhere!
Also, if someone could provide an accurate picture showing the firing position of the leads connected to the distributor, I would also appreciate that, as I have several conflicting pieces of information here.
If anyone could point to me a service manual in English, that would be brilliant.
Many thanks
Jimmy

Hello..
..I have some question..
..You have a Complete new Distributor ..??
..or you have new parts..?? ( Head,Rotor, etc.)..
..because, if you has no spark, the problem is maybe in bad Distributor Unit,
and Distributor Coil..
..so..
I don't have complete eletrical wiring diagram for Ignition Coil..
..but if you check resitence between ground a Secundary High Voltage pin..
..it's must be in XX kOoms..
..bye..

Brilliant, I'll check that in the morning thanks for your help.
As far as I know the distributor is brand new (complete new distributor), but even before you go through the distributor, if you take off the HT lead which comes from the coil, and put a plug into that, I get no spark there so, at the minute it's looking like the coil is the problem.
As far as we remember, the timing sequence on the distributor is 1-3-4-2, is this correct? If you were looking at the distributor face on, from the left hand side (near side) of the car it would look like this?
Is this the correct position for 1 etc?
Appreciate the help,
Jimmy

Appreciate the help,

Tested the ignition coil today, the reading was about 80kOhms, I went to a scrap yard later and tested the coil in the scrapped car, it was also producing around 80kOhms, so I didn't think there was anything wrong with the coil but I bought it anyway.
When I got back and replaced it, I still cant get a spark.
Does anyone else have any ideas what could be wrong? Does the vehicle have a Top Dead Center sensor, and if so where is it located?
Thanks
Jimmy
